Shazam director David F. Sandberg has confirmed today through Twitter, while responding to a fan, that Shazam will be part of the DC Extended Universe.
This will mark the second time this has needed to be confirmed by someone attached to the film, as Dany Garcia who’s a co-producer of the film, also went on to confirm Shazam’s affiliation to the DCEU in an interview in August of last year.
Shazam not being part of the DCEU was rumored awhile ago due to the film being produced by New Line and due to a Tweet a few years ago from Dwayne Johnson, who’s set to play Shazam’s arch-enemy Black Adam, hinting it was independent from the DCEU.
But since then, Warner Bros. has done nothing but confirm through their marketing for DC Films that Shazam is in fact part of the same Universe, though looks like that doesn’t seem to be enough for some.
