Batman: The Killing Joke Officially Receives an R-rating

Entertainment Weekly received the exclusive announcement that the DC Universe Original Movie based on the famous graphic novel by DC Comics from 1988, with the same name will be officially be R-rated.

The film stars Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne, Mark Hamill as The Joker, and Tara Strong as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon.

The story the animated series is based on is very dark one, as it tells the origin story of the Joker, as it leads into to him taunting Batman by torturing Barbara Gordon to the point of making her cripple and capturing James Gordon to put him out in an embarrassing display for Batman to see.

The film is set to be released sometime this year, but pre-orders are now available on Amazon.
