It was rumored for some time before the official casting of Jesse Eisenberg, that Bryan Cranston was up for the role of Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Though the rumor was never confirmed as just being a rumor, until now thanks to an interview with Josh Horowitz from MTV News, Cranston was able to debunk it as simply fan casting.
