According to Deadline, Derek Wilson who is set to play Donny Schenck on the television series Preacher, a Civil War re-enactor and abusive thug who gets into altercations with Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) in the pilot episode of the AMC series, has now be bumped up to a regular.

Deadline reports the decision to make Wilson’s role from recurring to regular was made after the pilot was shot, which could mean if the pilot was screen tested with an audience he may have received a very positive responds or maybe the power that be, such as Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg simply just liked him and his character.

Preacher is based on the DC Imprint Vertigo comic with the same name.
