Joker director Todd Phillips shared the first official photo of Joaquin Phoenix as the character of The Joker, for the latest origins movie based on the character. Phillips shared the photo through his official instagram, with the simple caption of “Arthur”.
Along with this official photo being released by the director, confirmation of the movie starting production was confirmed when on-set photos were also released, which features Phoenix in character, having fun with a clown in public.

Joker is set to release in theaters on October 4th, 2019.
