FX Orders Y: The Last Man Pilot Episode

The television network FX has officially given the DC Comics imprint Vertigo comics post-apocalyptic science fiction comic book series Y: The Last Man, which will be titled Y for television, a green-lighted an order for a pilot episode. As all pilots, the episode will be shown to an audience and if the reactions are positive, the series will then be green-lighted into a television series for the network.

The series has been in a slow development due to because of Michael Green’s (Blade Runner 2049) busy schedule. The series is by Michael Green, Brian K. Vaughan, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson. Green penned the adaptation into series, will also be the co-showrunner along with Aida Mashaka Croal (Luke Cage). The pilot episode will be directed by Melina Matsoukas, from FX Productions.

The 60-issue science comic book series published beginning in 2002, written by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, follows the story of a man named Yorick Brown, who survived the apparent simultaneous death of all other male mammals on Earth, except himself and his male pet monkey.
