DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns has officially stepped down from his exclusive position to enter into an exclusive writer and producer deal with Warner Bros. for DC Films, under his new production company in which he’s launching, Mad Ghost Productions.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, stating that Johns first project for the studio under his production company will be writing and producing Green Lantern Corps.
DC Comics artist Jim Lee will assume the post as president and chief creative officer for DC Entertainment. Johns went on to say the following in a statement regarding his stepping down:
“I took on a role at DCE because I love the characters and this universe more than anything. But, I want to spend my days writing and on set. I’m thrilled to get back to a more hands-on creative role. It’s a dream job on dream projects, reaching even deeper into DC’s vast pantheon of characters.”
The article also confirms that Johns will be writing and producing Wonder Woman 2.
