Actor Jack Bannon has been cast as Bruce Wayne’s butler, before he becoming the butler to the Dark Knight in Epix’s upcoming Batman prequel television series Pennyworth, by Gotham creator Bruno Heller.
The series will be an 10 episode one-hour drama that will follow Alfred in the 1960’s as a former British SAS soldier in his 20’s, who creates a security company and goes on to work for Thomas Wayne in London.
The character description is as followed:
“Alfred Pennyworth is a boyishly handsome, cheerful, charming, clever young man from London. Honest, open-faced and witty; you’d never take him for an SAS killer. Alfred doesn’t know how to reconcile the kind-hearted boy he used to be with the cold, calculated killer he was forced to become. He’s a man on the make, who doesn’t know what to make of himself yet.”
The series is set to start production on this week at the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England.
