The Suicide Squad director James Gunn went on to Twitter to respond to a fan’s question, asking if all the delays affecting production and if it’s a good thing for the VFX studios, in which Gunn responds back with “We are still on schedule as of now”.

There’s also the fact that The Suicide Squad will be more practical effects than CGI, as confirmed by Gunn not that long ago. We can only imagine the visual effects team shouldn’t be too overwhelmed with the editing the movie if practical is the bulk of the visuals.
Director James Gunn on if #TheSuicideSquad is more CGI or practical effects heavy:

Gunn has also confirmed that due to the stay at home order because of Coronavirus Pandemic, he’s been working on editing The Suicide Squad from home, which surely helps keeping the movie on schedule like it’s suppose to be.
Working on The Suicide Squad edit (from home), writing, meditating, exercising, talking with my gf, talking with others on my phone, playing with my cat & dog, making a Spotify playlist for you guys, @criterionchannl, & doing what I can to help others while locked up in my house! https://t.co/862riRIJxV
