Oscar winner actor Jeremy Irons, who’s best known by DC Comics fans as playing Alfred in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, has been cast as a lead role in Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen pilot for the cable network HBO.
Deadline received the exclusive casting announcement, stating Irons’s role hasn’t been disclosed, but what they know is that he’ll be playing an aging and imperious lord of a British manor.
Irons will be joining the previously announced cast Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard. The Watchmen pilot will be a take on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ iconic limited comic series for DC Comics.
