Spider-man: Homecoming screenplay writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are in talks with Warner Bros. to direct the Flash solo movie, Flashpoint. According to Variety the studio first approached Ben Affleck to the director the movie, but Affleck passed on it, leading offering the spot to Francis Daley and Goldstein who are known for comedies.

Francis Daley and Goldstein directing background include Vacation and the upcoming movie Game Night, starring Jason Bateman. Meanwhile their greatest success is writing the screenplay for Marvel Studios’ hit film from last summer Spider-man: Homecoming.

There’s no news if Francis Daley and Goldstein will rewrite the script, that was already turned in by Joby Harold, who wrote a new draft after a page-one rewrite. At the moment Flashpoint doesn’t have an official release date, as Ezra Miller is busy with the Fantastic Beasts franchise for Warner Bros

As many fans know, the original story Flashpoint from the comics, animated movie and even from The Flash television series was never meant as a comedy, so we can only hope they don’t turn such a dark story into fluff comedy.
