Liam McIntyre (Spartacus) has been confirmed today to have been cast as Mark Mardon, known as the Weather Wizard in The Flash comics. This news comes after of rumor reports of McIntyre appearing on the set of the series yesterday.
McIntyre will become the 6th cast member from Spartacus to take part in a DC Entertainment product as there’s Manu Bennet as Deathstroke on Arrow, Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Amanda Waller on Arrow, Katrina Law as Nyssa Raatko on Arrow, Nick Tarabay as Captain Boomerang on Arrow and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang in the upcoming Suicide Squad film.
Weather Wizard in the DC Comics is known super villain and mainly an enemy of The Flash, who has the ability to manipulate weather using a wand and is a member of the notorious Rogues, which is what The Flash is building up to on the series with Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Trickster (Mark Hamill), Captain Boomerang (Nick Tarabay) and Golden Glider (Peyton List).
The character of Mark Mardon on The Flash will be the brother to Clyde Mardon, who was the villain in the pilot episode who had the same ability to manipulate the weather, Mark is set to be returning to Central City to get justice for his brother’s death.
The Flash returns with its mid-season premiere on January 20th on The CW.
