According exclusively to Deadline, Mariah Carey is supposedly in talks to play the role of Commissioner Gordon in The LEGO Movie spinoff The LEGO Batman Movie.
In the article it explains that Warner Bros. is trying to keep everything under wraps with her casting, but Deadline seems confident that Carey will be joining the rest of the ready assembled cast of Ralph Fiennes (Alfred the Butler), Will Arnett (Batman), Michael Cera (Robin), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl) and Zach Galifianakis (The Joker).
Commissioner Gordon has always been played by a man and Carey is clearly a woman, but of course she can always change her voice or keep it the same as added humor to the film. Overall the casting is brilliant when it comes to talent, as there’s sure to be singing in the film.
UPDATE: Mariah Carey isn’t playing Commissioner Gordon, she’s playing the Mayor of Gotham!
