According exclusively to TVLine, Michelle Veintimilla has been cast to play the Batman supervillain Firefly, but as the character of Bridgit Pike in the upcoming second season of Gotham. Bridgit Pike will have a two episode arc on the FOX television series in late Fall.

Enslaved by her brothers, a notorious gang of arsonists, Bridgit Pike is forced into the family business. When she catches the eye of Selina Kyle, the young Cat Woman and the soon-to-be-Firefly team up to put Bridgit’s firestarting skills to good use. But after a deadly encounter with the Pike Brothers, the meek Cinderella is transformed into a vengeful supervillain, hell bent on destroying those who have wronged her.
In the DC Comics, Firefly has always been a man, either as the character of Garfield Lynns or Ted Carson, the character of Bridgit Pike isn’t canon to DC Comics nor to the Firefly character, it could be she just becomes the first to use the suit for Firefly and then it ends up in the hands of one of the known character’s in the future.
Gotham Season 2 premieres Monday, September 21st at 8/7c on FOX.
