According to Deadline, final negotiations are underway for Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins to once again come onboard to direct the film’s sequel, that has already been officially announced by Warner Bros., with release date set for December 13th, 2019.
Though with the confirmation of the sequel and release date, there was no word on whether Jenkins would return for the sequel, though from past interviews with Jenkins in which she spoke of already having an idea set for a Wonder Woman sequel if there would be one and Warner Bros. would want her back. Deadline states studio source said they were “confident the deal will be reached soon.”
Of course, after Wonder Woman just $2 million shy from crossing $800 million at the worldwide box office, making it one of the most successful solo comic book films, there’s no question that the studio will work with Jenkins to have her return for a sequel.
