AMC has finally officially ordered Preacher to pilot, after over 9 months since it was confirmed that the network was developing an adaptation of the DC Comics/Vertigo comic book, created by writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon, into a television series.
The series will be produced by the This Is the End duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who are also directors for the series, Sam Catlin of Breaking Bad, who will write the series and James Weaver who will oversee the overall project.
Preacher’s plot:
Preacher tells the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher in the small Texas town of Annville. Custer was accidentally possessed by the supernatural creature named Genesis in an incident which killed his entire congregation and flattened his church.
No official date has been set for the series, but the pilot will be shot in the summer of 2015 and be put into pilot pick-up in 2016.
A lot awesome things coming our way in 2016, fans get excited!
