David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! is featured as number 21 for Deadline’s 2019 Most Valuable Blockbuster Tournament , which lists the most profitable movies of 2019. According to the break down by Dealine, the studio Warner Bros/New Lines Cinema made a net profit of $74 million off of the movie, starring Zachary Levi as the title character.
With a worldwide box office of $366 million and earning $74 million in net profit after $262 million in overall costs, it totally makes sense why Warner Bros/New Line Cinema were quick to green light a second installment to Shazam!, which is officially slated to be release in theaters on April 1st, 2022.
