According to The Wrap, the new estimated number for Suicide Squad’s for opening weekend is now being targeted for $130 to $140 million, while Warner Bros. is estimating a lower number of $125 million.
These numbers are above the long-range forecast for the film from a month or so ago, which was around $93 million. This is great news that the film continues to be estimated to make north of 100 million, even by the studio, as anything above $100 million is a win for Warner Bros. as it’ll make Suicide Squad the biggest opening film for August.
If the film manages to make $140 million or above the current estimated number, it’ll make it the third biggest opening weekend for a movie domestically this year.
