Deadline receive the exclusive that Warner Bros. has a Supergirl movie in development with screenplay writer Oren Uziel, who’s best known for 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox, hard on work, writing on the script.
At the moment the character of Supergirl, who in the comics is best known as Kara Zor-El, cousin to Kal-El/Superman, has a television series on The CW starring Melissa Benoist, that’s already going into its fourth season on the network.
This news before any announcement of a second installment to Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, which what fans have begged for, which can only be assumed this could be a tie in, into Man of Steel, as in digital comic that was released after Man of Steel, Kara Zor-El was confirmed to be one of the aliens in the ship Clark ends up finding, that later becomes the Fortress of Solitude.
In the movie when Clark is walking around the ship, we see an open pod with no one in it, while the other pods have a dead bodies in them, fans can only speculate that empty pod belonged to Kara.
As of now, Warner Bros. has confirmed no release date for the movie.
