The LEGO Batman Movie tops its opening weekend at the box office with $55.6 million, beating out other films that opened for the weekend such as Fifty Shades Darker and John Wick: Chapter Two.
The opening number for The LEGO Batman Movie, is below what was projected by Warner Bros., which was $60 million, also coming below The LEGO Movie, which made $69 million opening weekend.
Positive news, the word of mouth for the film will be strong, as audiences gave the film a strong “A-” CinemaScore.
The audience break down for the weekend was 48% were males, 52% females, with 48% being over the age of 25.
