Tom Hardy has been forced to exit Suicide Squad because Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s The Revenant is going overlap his schedule into mid-March and Suicide Squad is set to start pre-production in March and production in April, soon after that Hardy will start promoting Warner Bros’ other film Mad Max: Fury Road, which releases on May 15th.
Jake Gyllenhaal who worked on End of Watch with David Ayver the director to Suicide Squad, is now being courted by Ayer to replace Hardy as Rick Flagg in Suicide Squad, multiple sources close to the project have told TheWrap.
Warner Bros. nor a representative for Gyllenhaal have commented on the reports.
