According to CNN which is owned by Warner Bros. parent company WarnerMedia, has reported that there’s no deal with actor Robert Pattinson as Batman in Matt Reeves’s The Batman movie. A representative for Warner Bros. went on to inform CNN, straight-forward: “We do not have a deal.”
This confirmation of a no deal comes less than 24 hours after the news broke exclusively by the entertainment trade site Variety, that Pattinson was in fact in negotiation to play Bruce Wayne/Batman in the latest Dark Knight movie that’s set to start pre-production this upcoming Summer.
This report is more of a confirmation as it’s directly coming from someone affiliated with the studio itself and this is a very much a different tune than how some entertainment sites are reporting the news, as though Pattinson is a done deal as the Dark Knight for Reeves’s The Batman. Which according to Deadline, he’s just one of the short list actors up for the role, that list including Mad Max: Fury Road and X-men fame actor Nicholas Hoult.
The Batman set to release in theaters on June 25, 2021.
