Why Sandman Wasn’t on DC’s Movie Slate

A fan via tumblr asked The Sandman creator and writer Neil Gaiman, who’s also working on the film, why Sandman wasn’t listed on DC Comics movie slate that was announced yesterday by Warner Bros. This is what Gaiman had to say in regards to the film slate and why Sandman wasn’t listed:

It’s not a DC Comics film. It’s a Vertigo film. That’s a different slate of films, and a different announcement.

Not to read too much into what Gaiman said, but it does seem like he’s clearly saying that Vertigo is going to have its own slate of movies. This is very exciting news!
