Wonder Woman is still holding strong at the domestic box office, even though it fell to the second spot after the debut Cars 3, as the film only had a 30% drop from its second weekend, being reported by Warner Bros. to have made $40.77 million for its third weekend.
That would put Wonder Woman as the second best third weekend for a Warner Bros. film since The Dark Knight ($42.66 million) and far ahead the previous DC Extended Universe films such as Man of Steel, ($20.7 million), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($23.3 million) and Suicide Squad ($20.9 million).
At this rate Wonder Woman will pass Man of Steel’s ($291 million) domestic box office run within this week, as with this weekend’s total the domestic total for Wonder Woman sits at $274.6 million.
