According to Geeks Worldwide, the sequel to David F. Sandberg Shazam! starring Zachary Levi as the title character and Asher Angel as Billy Batson, will begin production this year sometime in July.
This news doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as we did report back in July of last year, that Zachary Levi teased in an interview with MTVNews, that the movie was set to start production sometime in late Spring or early Summer of 2020, while Asher Angel stated back in January to ET Live production would start soon, as he went on to say– “I think we start filming really soon, so I’m super excited.”
There’s no official confirmation by Warner Bros. or director Sandberg as to when the confirmed production start date for the following up to Shazam! will start, so take this report with a grain of salt until more official reports are released.
The second installment to Shazam! is set to release in theaters on April 1st, 2021.
