The Batman director Matt Reeves went on to his official Twitter account to officially announce the casting of Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth in his upcoming standalone Batman movie, starring Robert Pattinson as the title character.
The announcement of the casting news by Reeves was very much like how he went about Tweeting the casting of Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, a simple Tweet with the hashtag Alfred, an emoji of a bat and a gif of the actor.

This will not be the first nor, the second time Serkis and Reeves will work together, as Serkis played Caesar in Reeves Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War of the Planet of the Apes, so this casting doesn’t come as much as a surprise, but still an awesome addition to the film. The Batman will also star Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Paul Dano as the Riddler,
The Batman is slated to be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
