Anne Hathaway who played Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises, though never referred to as Catwoman in the film, was recently interviewed by Variety in which she was asked if she would be against appearing in a Catwoman movie, in which Hathaway stated she wouldn’t, because she loves the character and goes on to say she would love to go back and play the character.
“Of course not, I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her. I’m not sure how it would work because I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I’m part of that, but I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back.”
On feeling possessive towards the character of Catwoman:
“I don’t think you can, it sort of goes with the territory when you accept it and receive it from the last Catwoman. I was shown such generosity from Halle [Berry] and from Michelle [Pfeiffer], and so I would do that the next time as well.”
