The CW has officially announced Batwoman into series, starring Ruby Rose as the title character Kate Kane/Batwoman. Along with the annoucement of the series the network also released promotional art and an official teaser trailer featuring Rose as Batwoman standing on a rooftop as she looks upon Gotham City, as the Batwoman logo appears with the words “coming soon” also appearing.
The CW hasn’t confirmed a premiere date for the show, we can only assume it’ll be sometime in the Fall and that it’ll likely be taking the place for Arrow, which officially ends this season.
The introduction of Batwoman and Gotham City itself into the Arrowverse took place this season in the elseword cross over episodes of Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl. In the world that was introduced Batwoman has been protecting Gotham for about three years after the original Caped Crusader Batman disappeared.
