Black Lightning pilot episode premiered on Tuesday with the strongest ratings The CW has seen in two years in that time slot.

The total viewership was 2.31 million with a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic, making it the most watched premiere for The CW since DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which had a viewership of 3.2 million, back in 2016.

Black Lightning ratings are the highest numbers for a Tuesday night at 9pm television series that wasn’t one of the crossover episodes, which The CW hasn’t seen since Supernatural left the slot three years ago.
