According exclusively to Deadline, a television series for the DC Comics superhero Black Lightning is currently being pitched to networks. The television is based on the superhero with the ability to generate and control lightning, who’s real name is Jefferson Pierce.
Greg Berlanti who’s known for bringing the majority of the live action DC based television series to life, has partnered with The Game and Being Mary Jane creator Mara Brock Akil and her husband Salim Akil to bring this show to life.
The television series written by Mara Brock and Salim Akil, will center around Jefferson Pierce, who has hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and legend — Black Lightning.
