Paul Dini Gives His Thoughts on Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad

Paul Dini, who is known for his work on Batman: The Animated Series and its connected series in the DC Animated Universe spoke recently with Shanlian on Batman podcast about his newest book Dark Night: A True Batman Storywhich that conversation starts at 21:12, where he first begins to discuss what he loved about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squadas well as what he thought didn’t work with the films. He also discusses how he felt on Harley and Joker’s relationship as portrayed in Suicide Squad, as well as his excitement for what comes next.

Dini also gets into a discussion with his drafts for a Batman Beyond film, as well as a Batman vs Superman films he was involved with years ago, working on Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, why the edited version was made and the fact that Warner Bros. had plans to release the film in the theaters.

Dini discusses how he ended up doing animation and what happened to bring him into doing Batman and creating characters like Harley Quinn. Along with that he discusses how he feels about Geoff Johns being one of those in charge of the DC Extended Universe, as well as his comments to those who have wondered why he hasn’t been involved in any of the films.

Towards the end Dini talks on his next project for the Batman VR game, which was announced at San Diego Comic Con, and finally he talks a bit about his work on Justice League Action for Cartoon Network.
