As we previously reported, Alec Baldwin was cast as Thomas Wayne in Todd Phillips’s Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix. As soon as the casting was announced, it was then reported that Baldwin dropped out of the role.
Now it’s being reported that actor Brett Cullen, best known by DC Comics fans for his role in The Dark Knight Rises as a Congressman, has now taken on the role Thomas Wayne in Joker.
The story within the movie will take place years before Bruce Wayne becomes Batman, as the film is an origins story on how The Joker becomes The Joker. The movie is now in production as an official photo of Phoenix in character was released, along with on-set photos.
Joker is set to premires in theaters on October 4th, 2019.
