David F. Sandberg Confirms the Wizard’s is Named Shazam

Shazam director David F. Sandberg has went on to Twitter to confirmed that the Wizard in the movie, who actor Ron Cephas Jones is in talks to play, will be named Shazam, like in the original comics prior to the New 52 reboot of the origin story. 

This does lead to the question if the superhero Billy Batson ends up becoming after saying the wizard’s name “Shazam”, will then be called Captain Marvel, like in the original comics… As the name “Shazam” to fans of the original comic series will always be the wizard, while “Captain Marvel” was always the superhero Billy Batson ends up turning into.

The wizard is named Shazam in the movie, I just think they’re trying to avoid confusion in news/articles.
