Elisabeth Moss is the third and last lead actress to join the DC Comics imprint Vertigo Comics adaptation The Kitchen for New Line Cinema. Moss will be joining Tiffany Haddish and Melissa McCarthy, as wives of Irish mobsters in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, who end up taking over the business after their husband get arrest by the FBI.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, who exclusively announcement the casting of Moss, the storyline will lead the following set up for each of the actresses characters:
McCarthy is an adoring mother who leads the women’s charge to take over the business while Haddish plays a woman willing to kill anyone in the way of her plan. Moss will play a timid wife of an abusive husband who falls in love with the violence of her new life.
Moss is best known for her television series work on such series as Mad Men, Top of the Lake and her Emmy-winning role on The Handmaid’s Tale, which streams on Hulu.
The Kitchen will be directed by Straight Outta Compton co-writer Andrea Berloff and will be produced by Michael De Luca, with a release date set for September 20th, 2019.
