First Look at Mr. Terrific on Arrow

TV Insider got the exclusive first look at Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt, also known as Mr. Terrific in the DC Comics Universe in Arrow, along with an interview with Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim.

“Curtis is someone we started talking about [in the writers room] at the end of last year, out of a desire to fill in some gaps in terms of the cast and storytelling,” says executive producer Marc Guggenheim. And while the recurring character is a stylish brainiac who technically “fills the same role Brandon [Routh] filled last year,” Guggenheim assures us that “no one will compare the two. It is really a different performance than Brandon’s.

Holt will, however, share one thing in common with Routh’s believed-to-be-dead Ray Palmer: A close association with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), who is now his supervisor at Palmer Tech. Which means fans should prepare themselves for a lot of laughs with these two sharing scenes together. “Echo has quickly become an MVP of the cast,” raves Guggenheim. “I think a lot of people will compare him favorably to the addition of Emily in Season 1. He has this wonderful energy.”

His casting and the decisions behind it, is really offensive. Mr. terrific was a muscular black man with an awesome costume, he was a genius, rich guy, and he had sex with Power girl. But this guy? He comes off as the most non-threatening dude on the show lol not an alpha whatsoever, but Oliver and the rest of the hooded white characters can have costumes and badass personalities right? Fuck Arrow and fuck Marc Guggenheim.

Dude…….don’t leave John hanging man he’s pretty much everything you described minus being rich and sex with Power girl. But if what you said is a joke then that’s pretty funny/clever lol.

I know lol but I just wanted to see a black costumed hero that’s not put to the side or made to make the white mc look better, ya know? It pisses me off. But knowing that they had the option to do an actual black alpha superhero that’s not a side character and they did the exact OPPOSITE? It grinds my gears so much lol.

Oh ok I get you. What would be kick ass though is if they put Black Lightning in a show or the movies that would be cool as hell! Preferably the movies though just so it can be more epic, like throw in young Static sitting in front of a tv watching Black Lightning kicking ass with the Justice League or something along those lines.

      And he’s gay!

Before you SJWs start attacking me, he was not in the comic, not that i give a shit like OP here.

But him being a muscular genius is kinda important.
