In a recent interview with Mens Health, Superman actor Henry Cavill goes on to debunk any rumors that he won’t be returning to the silver screen as the Man of Steel, as he goes on to state in the interview that the “The cape is in the closet, it’s still mine”.
Confirming that he hasn’t walked away from the role nor has Warner Bros. removed him from it, as rumors in the previous months have suggested.
Cavill goes on to say that he felt that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice great for a Batman movie and that Justice League didn’t work, but with Man of Steel he wouldn’t change anything.
Man of Steel? “If I were to go back, I don’t think I’d change anything.”Batman v Superman? “Very much a Batman movie. And I think that realm of darkness is great for a Batman movie.” Justice League? “It didn’t work.”
Cavill carries on to say that he isn’t going to sit quietly in the dark as all the false rumors are being spread, as he hasn’t given up on the role:
“I’m not just going to sit quietly in the dark as all this stuff is going on,” Cavill says of the rumors. “I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman.
As if we’ll see him as Superman again, Cavill goes on to simply say:
The status is: You’ll see.”
Man of Steel 2 still hasn’t receive an official slated release date nor has it been announced that the movie will be moving forward at Warner Bros, fans can only hope something is taking place behind close doors.
