According to Variety exclusively, WWE star John Cena who’s making his way into the film industry with starring in movies such as Blockers and Bumblebee, is in talks to appear in James Gunn’s followup to David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, which at the moment is being called The Suicide Squad.
If Cena does land whatever role he’s up for, he’ll be joining Margot Robbie who’ll be returning as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney who’s returning as Captain Boomerang and the other new comer to the team, whose character has yet to be disclosed Idris Elba.
This will also be Cena’s first comic book movie if he does join the team of characters. At the moment Warner Bros. or anyone attached to the film has yet confirmed the possible casting or the character he might be being eyed for. Though many fans are speculating that Cena might be up for the role of King Shark.
The Suicide Squad set to release in theaters on August 6, 2021
