According to Best Buy, David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! is officially releasing on home video on July 2nd, 2019. The site has 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray combo pack steel book listed to be released on that date, along with a preview of what the steel book cover will look like.
Along with the news of the release date of Shazam!, movie editor Michel Aller went on to confirm in an interview with Cinemablend.com, that they’ll be a lot material on the home release of the movie that was deleted from the movie:
We had a lot of material. When you buy the DVD, you’ll be able to see, I think we have 20-24 minutes of deleted scenes. And one of the scenes that regretfully we had to pull out was a scene between young Billy and Mary, when he’s about to sneak out. It’s just a really touching scene, but it came so early in the movie, and we were trying to get to get to the Shazam character, that we couldn’t put everything that we liked at the front of the movie. So that was one scene that we pulled out. I’m glad there are DVDs out there so we can show these great scenes.
Shazam! is still in theaters, but be sure to also support the movie once it releases on home video on July 2nd, 2019!
