Joker Hits $1 Billion at the Worldwide Box Office

Todd Phillips Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix officially crosses the $1 billion mark at the world wide box office with a budget of $62.5 million. This makes Joker the first R-rated movie to hit this milestone and the third non-Disney/Universal movie to do so in just under a year, all without the aid of the China box office, making Joker the biggest grossing movie to never play in China.

It stands at the third highest grossing DC Comics movie, as it passes Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knights Worldwide box office gross of $1.005 billion, with Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises in second with $1.085 million and James Wan’s Aquaman leading in first with $1.15 billion.

The rate Joker is going at the domestic and worldwide box office, with reports stating it’ll receive another pass during the Holiday seasons, in hand making it very possible that it’ll top Aquaman, making it the top grossing DC Comics movie ever, time will only tell.
