Justice League Ultimate Cut Release Seems Highly Unlikely

Mark Hughes of Forbes went on to social media to explain why it’s highly unlikely that Justice League will receive a Ultimate Cut release, like that of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Hughes goes on to explain that there was never a finished original cut the way fans seem to believe, that only a rough cut was completed that needed work, which is why Joss Whedon was brought in to finish, as even Justice League director Zack Snyder deemed the film unfinished and needing work. 

It’s highly unlikely if not impossible for an Ultimate Cut type of home release for JL. There was never a finished original cut the way fans seem to think there was. Only an early rough cut that wasn’t complete & which was felt by all involved to be incomplete & needing work.

Yep I saw that! Only some of the removed/reshot scenes are completed, others aren’t. The main point is, fans shouldn’t think there was some original “director’s version” that was completed, just an early rough cut of footage that was assembled.

And also recall, the rough cut was deemed by everyone, including Snyder, as needing further work, including having Whedonwrite some new scenes.

No, it’s unlikely. Anything that wasn’t finished won’t be worked on and inserted into a home release cut. It’ll MAYBE be added on a separate “deleted scenes” part of DVDs/Blu-rays, but I suspect some footage won’t be officially released at all, to be honest.

They’ll probably do “extended” cut inserting a few deleted Luthor scenes, more of the flashback ancient invasion footage (the montage of Steppenwolf invading in the past was originally larger sequence of the invasion), & a few other shots that fit ok into theatrical cut.
