Matt Reeves who’s in the process of helming the solo Batman movie for the DC Extended Universe, recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to talk on his take of Batman.

In the interview Reeves goes on to confirm that his version will be of a noir Batman tale, that’ll be point of view-driven, as Batman is suppose to be the world’s greatest detective, which Reeves state we’ve seen in the comics, but not necessarily in movies.

I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.

Reeves also goes on to confirm that they’ll be a Rogues Gallery for the movie and that the casting process will begin shortly, as they do another pass of the script. When asked what’s the name of the solo Batman film, Reeves does say that at the moment the movie will be called The Batman, and that the film is looking to have a release date of 2021 with a release date of late Spring or Summer.

Reeves also goes on to answer the question of how involved he is in the other DC Comic movies that in the works, in which he states that he’s only involved with The Batman and that he believes that Warner Bros. aren’t planning on connecting all these movies with each other, they just want to make good movies with DC characters.
