As we previously reported back in September of last year, HBO ordered a Watchmen pilot script to be written into a television series for the network, with orders of more episodes to be scripted and Damon Lindelof (Lost) attached to the project as the show runner.
Since that report news of the pilot being made hasn’t been confirmed, though in a recent interview with Yahoo!Movies actor Patrick Wilson who’s known for playing Nite Owl in Zack Snyder’s 2009 Watchmen, stated he would like to play the character of Dan again.
“I’ve wanted to play Dan again. I certainly think we’re all more age appropriate now!”
Though Patrick does say that he hasn’t been approached regarding the new series on HBO:
“There’s never been one conversation,” the actor says. “I’m sure they want to stay as far away from us as possible but I love Damon Lindelof I’m so excited to see what they will do. I’d love to play [Dan] now but no there’s been no talk, I’m just a fan like you are.”
Fans will see Patrick as a DC Comics once again in James Wan’s Aquaman on December 21st, as he’s playing Orm / Ocean Master.
