Watchmen Pilot Order for HBO and More Scripts Ordered

As previously reported Damon Lindelof teased he was in pre-production for his television adaptation of Watchmen and now we have further details on how far into Pre-production it has gotten.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO has ordered the pilot script to be made and they loved Damon Lindelof’s pitch for the series so much they order more episodes to be scripted.

Lindelof has shown his love for the property, having read the story as a child and wanting to adapt it himself, he even praised Zack Snyder’s 2009 film adaptation, saying it’s as close to a perfect adaptation as it could have gotten in that format.

With the format of television and one that is like HBO, this can very well become an adaptation that not only perfects the story but expands on it using the “Before Watchmen” series of stories and even the upcoming “Doomsday Clock” which by the time the series comes out will be in the middle, if not already done.

Warner Bros. and HBO haven’t responded as of yet, so until they do stay tuned for updates on confirmations.
