The projection for David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! opening weekend number continues to raise as we get closer to the official April 5th release date.
As we previously reported, the projection for Shazam! box office opening weekend was first listed around $40-45 million, then it jumped to a possible $50 million, but now ERC Box Office is reporting that the movie should power up to a $55 million opening if not higher if word of mouth is strong enough.
DC’s SHAZAM! strikes 4,100+ theaters next weekend and should power up around $55M, having already banked $3.3M in previews. Reportedly, the film cost under $100M, which is already a huge win by superhero standards these days.

Very well could. WOM might just propel it past $60M. Nothing hotter than the superhero genre right now.
