According exclusively to The Wrap, from a source with knowledge of the project, Shazam! screenplay writer Henry Gayden has been hired once again to write the sequel to the hit David F. Sandberg movie, starring Zachary Levi as the title character and Asher Angel as Billy Batson.
Even though the article confirms that Gayden is returning, it does state that director David F. Sandberg and producer Peter Safran are also expected to return, but with no official confirmation.
At the moment Warner Bros. or New Line Cinema have officially confirmed a Shazam! sequel, though it was stated in past interviews with director David F. Sandberg that a sequel for the movie was already in the pipeline.
No other information is known for this second installment such as release date or production date, we as fans can only hope it’s soon!
