According to an article by Variety on The Batman director rewriting the film’s script and story completely from that of Ben Afflecks and Geoff Johns’s treatment, they went on to state that the film is projected to be released in 2019.
Seeing how Variety is one of the bigger entertainment sites that often has real reliable sources, we can only take their word for what they say in regards to film’s projected release year.
As the release date itself doesn’t seem unheard of, as the film was previously reported to start filming in Spring of this year or sometime this year, which hasn’t been officially confirmed by the studio. Of course nothing if officially official until Warner Bros. themselves confirms it, as of this moment The Batman doesn’t have an official release date nor a production start date, we only know that it’s in development.
