Shazam! producer Peter Safran confirmed in the Entertainment Weekly exclusive San Diego Comic Con issue, that Warner Bros. has plans in place for sequels for the movie.
Safran disclosed this information when talking in regards to 15-year-old Asher Angel, who plays Billy Batson and how he’s going to grow as the years go on and will no longer be a 15 year old teenager.
“We have plans in place for sequels that take into account those realities” Safran said.
The first installment to David F Sandberg’s Shazam! will release in theaters on April 5th 2019, there’s been no confirmation that sequels are already in the works, but clearly if the movie does well at the box office, Warner Bros. will be quick to green light at least a second installment.
