In a strange twist, Kevin Feige who’s the head of the Marvel Cinematic Universe spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about plans for the future for the Marvel film universe and during the interview he shared his thoughts on Joss Whedon moving over to the DC Extended Universe and signing up for the Batgirl that was recently announced.

“He called a couple months ago, which he didn’t have to do and was super cool of him and super nice of him,” said Feige. “And we couldn’t be more supportive. We want to see a Joss Whedon Batgirl film be awesome.”

What makes this news surprising is that Joss Whedon made it clear that after working on The Avengers: Age of Ultron he was unhappy with how Marvel Studios had forced him to cut things out just to tease upcoming films.
