CinemaCon has been on fire today as every studio came in to show off what they had in store for us throughout the Summer and Warner Bros. was no exception.
Along with their amazing slate of Warner Bros. films coming, Warner Bros. finally officially announced that Ben Affleck is in fact directing the next solo Batman film.
The announcement was made by Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara today’s CinemaCon:
“It set up a great foundation for our DC slate, which includes at least 10 movies through 2020,” Tsuijhara said. “I’m also excited to know that we will be working with Ben Affleck on a stand-alone Batman movie.”
It’s been known that Ben Affleck was co-writing the Batman script with Geoff Johns, Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics and had been assumed he was also directing. It’s nice to know that it is happening, it was also confirmed that Ben Affleck had been signed on to Justice League: Part One and Justice League: Part Two, so this apparently means they have renegotiated his contract, but no word on how many more films.
