Deadline reports that Blake Ritson is playing Brainiac on Syfy’s television series Krypton. Though no word on if the character is recurring or a main cast member. It’s important to note creator David S. Goyer confirmed this series exists in the DC Films Universe, so the question now stands, will Blake Ritson appear in the films as the character?
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
A parasitic, hyper-advanced alien android of immense intelligence, Brainiac is one of Superman’s oldest and most dangerous foes.
Brainiac first appeared in Action Comics #242 (1958) and created by Otto Binder (Writer) and Al Plastino (artist). In the comics Brainiac is one of Superman’s biggest villains and has a close connection to his home world as well as Supergirl. In some continuities Brainiac is an organic life form who preserves all life in the hopes of gathering all knowledge in the universe, he does this by shrinking a major city in each world before its destroyed. In other continuities, namely starting with Superman: The Animated Series he’s an A.I. who is responsible for Krypton’s destruction as well as others.
